But why have a News 24 bug with "Election Live" on it when you're always going to have a huge "Election 2005" strap on the screen simultaneously.

They need to load up the ticker with more info so it doesn't have to rotate quite as often.

I'd be surprised if anything visually would change from next Monday- remember if the justification for these changes is to avoid perceived bias, they have to change now- we're in election mode as of now.

Sky's 'fact checker' sounds identical to something Channel 4 have been running for over a week now.

Worm polling will without doubt make some of the more tedious political speeches over the next 30 days more viewable.

My biggest problem with Sky News- Burley.....send her up in a copter if you must.....but why bother giving her with a camera crew Shocked

Sky have some really snazzy graphics up now for their 'swing seat' profiles.

I think that whilst we can expect things in terms of straps/window keys/etc to remain the same from now on, it wouldn't surprise me if Sky only deployed any Vote 05 idents they had up their sleeves from Monday, because as noggin points out it is pretty pointless to have election idents introducing a day that is going to be covering the Pope's death and the Royal wedding.

From next week The Daily Politics will go 5 days a week, for 1 hour.
Yesterday, they unveiled their updated graphics - rather *chunky*, and an updated studio. Also there is new music, and opening titles. Not too keen on the new music - I prefered the old theme.

Sorry for all the questions, but I don't have access to a TV until I get home.

Are the straps on Sky the same as before when covering a non-election story?

From the point at which Blair announced the date to now, there haven't been any other straps up apart from the Vote 05 one.

Their live bug and just about everything else is the same, though. Does make it look like a bit of a mishmash, but so far their other graphics have been pretty stunning.

News 24's election sting is pretty nice too.

I have seen nothing of ITV other than an advert for Debtbuster Loans.

I don't think they've broken away from the election coverage yet

I just counted the word ELECTION on the screen FIVE times simultaneously on News 24.

Once for the live bug, Once on the strap, Once on the aston, Once on the masthead, Once on the ticker.

Seems the "BattleBus" also has an introductory graphic....quite a plush map of the UK, flying over it to locate the position of the bus. Very self-congratulatory report about the technology in the bus and how it's going to be used to be "your bus". Keep that bit to the "6" please...N24 viewers are used to better.

They did, briefly - the Vote 05 bug stays where it is. It seems that the red strap's default text is BREAKING NEWS, otherwise it turns into ELECTION LATEST or the like.

N24 simulcast with BBC ONE. Tower gone, stripped DOG in place on N24 only. Bulletin branded as the "One" on N24 as well as BBC ONE. And with Huw Edwards at Westminster, Anna Ford in N6, and Matthew Amroliwala and Maxine Mawhinney in the N24 studio, I think that may be the biggest number of presenters on a single BBC bulletin ever.

They all got to say a headline too!

Wow, that's what a call a big bulletin! Very Happy

So News 24 are doing the 'local' inserts on the One, then? Nice.
Possibly not the largest number of presenters, but probably greatest combined number of letters in their names..

Do you think the broadcasters have much budget to play around with new graphics etc for the election? Overspend must be through the roof, so far this year they have had to cover the Tsunmai, Pope Death, Royal Wedding, and now an Election underway and it’s only April!

Where is the extra money coming from…….
