It was on BBC One/News24 with Peter Snow.
It looked horrific; the background looked like it'd been done on the cheap. Especially when compared to the classy 2001 virtual studio he had.
Sky had a nice newswall/floormap virtual world. Had to do a double take, because it looked like a virtual studio but wasn't.

We've just seen Peter Snow with his Swingometer in a virtual studio, and Sky in their Centre with a virtual Parliament extending from newswall over the floor.
I thought both were quite impressive actually.
I just think the Swingometer is such a brilliant device with Peter Snow...it equals the the election for me.
Hope he pops up regularly on News 24 in a kind of "Factfile" type of slot.
News 24 takes up the reigns solo at 12pm (this is presumably the reason why we're tickerless- BBC One viewers apparently won't be able to handle the information)....will this be a change or alteration in pres for News 24??
It's now or never I say.

It was bloody awful, wasn't it. Particularly worrying the way things appeared out of the floor, were referred to, and then started to slide back into the floor, but actually just disappeared instantaneously about halfway through the animation.
Looked like the beginnings of a far more impressive system which hasn't yet been completed yet. Certainly fell way short of the brilliant system they used for the US Elections last year.

Jesus Christ... did the Beeb do that virtual studio in Paint?

I hope they smooth it out for the election night. Even the spinning 'Election 2005' logo was jerky.
This Morning are interviewing Blair.
Lionel Blair.
Good old ITV.

Q. How many people does it take to drive a bus?
A. Apparently 28 staff if you're the BBC Battlebus
Budget cuts my arse
