A little birdie tells me the Election Studio is in construction over at Gray's Inn Road. It is not yet known whether the main part of it will come from the atrium (like last time) or whether studio 2 will be form the main area.

Interesting, I can imagine it now, 4 squares with an x in the yellow one Very Happy. I think Alistair/Andrea/Nick Robinson/Lauren Taylor should present it, as they did a fantastic job on the American and UK local elections!

It'll probably be Dimbleby again.

He presents on the BBC.

Luke is referring to Jonathan Dimbleby, who presents ITV's Sunday lunchtime interview programme (as well as Any Questions?/Any Answers on Radio 4).

He is also ITV's regular General Election host.

I'd have Jonathan Dimbelby presenting the main programme, with Alastair Stewart doing updates from somewhere else in the studios, as well as virtual presentation. Nicholas Owen would do news updates throughout the evening. Nick Robinson would be in the studio with Jonathan, and both Lauren Taylor, Bill Neely and John Ray would be doing regular Briefings.

And I'd dispatch the following correspondents to areas containing key or controversial seats....

More Important Seats:
Mark Austin
James Mates
Angus Walker
Andrea Catherwood
Libby Weiner
Tom Bradby

Less Important:
Philip Raey - Smith
Helen Callaghan
Harry Smith
Adrian Britton
Tim Rogers
Geraint Vincent
Martin Geissler
Shiulie Ghosh
Mark Webster
Romilly Weeks
Paul Davies
Emma Murphy

And it would kick the BBC's @ss

I would think it would almost certainly be anchored by Dimbleby with Alastair playing a secondary role. No doubt Nick Owen will provide the analysis or perhaps Mary.

I do hope run the main part from the atrium, it looked so good last time

so sort of like a UK today type thing. I like the idea

i think the BBC have kept election coverage the same for so long. At least ITV is bothering to make a total effort.

Of course, because the BBC News effort is just half-hearted Rolling Eyes

And the Beeb haven't kept their election covergage "the same for so long". Compare 1992 to 2001 - entierly different in style, yet keeping key principals. The BBC will have more heavyweight names than ITV could ever muster.

Who? Jon Snow and David Dimbleby? Wow people of the year. Half the BBC team are nearly in their graves. Well at least act like it.
