Huw Edwards on BBC World as well, with Peter Dobbie in London.
What a waste of time and money...
In theory, Mishal Hussain would have been a better choice if they insisted on a presenter in tripoli. As she is known to viewers on breakfast, world, nc and news night. Only one presenter required then

I think George would have been sent had he been around.
To be very honest, I would have expected nothing less. One of the World's most evil despots has been killed after ruling a nation for 42 years, and is an event which will have major implications economically and politically for all of us. So, I (personally) would have been very surprised if the news outlets DIDNT send out their big cheeses!
It's become an expectation in this day of rolling instant news.
(By the way, Ben Brown earlier looked as though he hadn't slept for weeks. He appeared very pale and exhausted.)
It just seems ridiculous as neither Ben Brown or Huw Edwards can add anything to this story - it's the reporters that have been out there for months (or even years) and experts in the matter.
I know it's a customary thing to send out big anchors to these things but the main event in Libya is now over - it won't be long till Gadaffi is buried and we won't see anything newsworthy coming from Libya for a few weeks when details about Lockerbie, etc are released and we see details on the future of Libya's government.

Katya Adler also anchoring live from the BBC roof in Tripoli. She's quite good
Peter Dobbie anchoring rolling coverage of Gadaffi's son's capture on BBC World, and based on clips also shown on BBC World, it sounds like Tim Willcox is presenting the same news story over on the NC.
World now simulcasting with the News Channel, with Tim. Peter Dobbie did a very brief intro at the top of the hour, but it was then more or less straight to Tim thereafter.
