Odd swapping of studios as well. Naga and Matthew Amroliwala only doing one hour on air! Geeta and Martine only did a couple too.

In terms of anchors today it's been a very odd situation (in a spoiler, so those who don't care don't have to see)

From 9:20am onwards it's been Simon McCoy and Peter Dobbie:

Then from 11 it was Martine Croxall and Peter:

From 12 it was Naga Munchetty and Matthew Amroliwala in N8:

News at One with Simon McCoy - then it's Martine and Peter again, now in N8:

In some cases channels do just rebroadcast others when there are big stories, usually a national broadcaster. It's legally iffy, although often it will go under the defense of fair use


Thanks for that, had always wondered how such arrangements worked.

You'll notice today that the BBC are showing an off air clip from AJE of an interview of someone in Gaddafi's camp under fire . That presumably comes under 'fair use' as it's an interview that's significant and only they have.... and no-one else will be able to replicate. They are using it off air and crediting it


Which is presumably the reason for the DOG on the Andrew Marr show and the Politics Show on DTL interviews, so that when they're borrowed under fair dealing, there is some BBC branding on it.
