Dropping DW Deutsch in Europe, that can't be a good move, how do Germans watch DW Deutsch?

DW is the foreign service of the ARD system and is not intended to be distributed domestically. (As far as Austria and German-speaking Switzerland are concerned, they have access to mainstream German TV anyway.)

Phil Gayle's gone grey!

Graphics seem very BBC inspired - not sure if it's a good thing or not.

No idea how any of these graphics are related to the BBCs at all!

Titles/countdown rather than astons. Very BBC regional news crossed with the old election titles IMO.

My first thought was also how similar they were to the BBC News' title sequence.

The predominantly white background, changing perspectives on a globe, and links between bureaux/reporters is more than just a passing resemblance to the 'cats cradle' idea used by the BBC.

Not to mention their Blu-Ray players.

And the beeps just add to it. Is it a Lambie Nairn effort, although "effort" doesn't seem the correct word if it is.

The music seemed like a hybrid of BBC News with the beeps and Sky News once Phil introduced the heads.

Exactly my thoughts. Music = BBC News beeps + Sky News, Graphics = BBC Regions + BBC 2010 Election
