RTL Nieuws has recently gotten an update on their website and apps. And their main 19.30 pm bulletin also has a different close, and stings for the shorter news. I myself think it's a big improvement, but I would like to see it implemented in the breakfast news, 6 o'clock news, and the late news. I would also like to see a midday bulletin to be honest. RTL Z is nice and all, but it's mostly economic news..
Have y'all noticed the 2016 NOS Journaal rebrand? I have noticed that the kids news (Jeugdjournaal) actually looks better than the main NOS Journaal.
Compare the intros.
Jeugdjournaal:
NOS Journaal:
The main journaal looks as if the last shot of the intro was badly chroma keyed. The jeugdjournaal on the other hand, has done it right. The background was properly cut out. Also I don't really like the background loop of the jounaal. Just blocks scrolling trough the screen, looking very cold. The old studio loops were better.

RTL Z used to have a bulletin with both economic and world news every hour between 9 and 5, sadly they were replaced by the short inserts they have now, as these are cheaper to produce.
There are plans to do more with the full space of the studio, combined with graphics. I'm not sure if these ideas will be implemented soon.
I do think it's interesting how the Dutch channels tend to have lots of short bulletins throughout the day, whereas the Flemish channels choose to have fewer, but longer bulletins. For example, there tends to be an edition of NOS Journaal on the hour, every hour during between 7am and 6pm, plus evening bulletins; the VRT, in contrast, only does three bulletins a day (1pm, 7pm, late), plus a short update at around 6pm.
Well the VRT probably makes fewer bulletins because Belgium is quite a small country. I think that the VRT just assumes that people turn to NPO1 to get news on the hour.
Don't forget that radiobulletins are being broadcast on VRT in the morning hours, which is a way cheaper way to provide news at that moment.
That's a very good point - going slightly on a tangent, I find it interesting how Flemish television doesn't really bother with programmes in the morning, and if they do, it's just kids' shows. I guess there isn't the audience for anything else in the mornings?
It seems to be a similar situation to the UK, where most people listen to radio at breakfast time rather than watch mediocre morning news skewed shows.

NRK in Norway also broadcast morning radio bulletins on Sundays when I last checked. Just a standard radio studio with two cameras.
Having said that, they also have Dagsnytt Atten which started as a radio programme, then started being broadcast on TV and now has more TV viewers than radio listeners each day whilst still coming from this studio.

I wonder if this was the response to the 2016 NOS Journaal new studio, as it is 2 years later. Earlier in this forum I talked about a theory that RTL Nieuws rebrands 2 years after the NOS.
