Hi all,

I've just a quick question, i'm in the middle of writing out my dissertation, and I wanted to explain how news services recive video footage and sort of put them on the air.

But I have absolutly no idea what I need to look for to goodle...

Does anyone know the name or give me a brief run down then I can go off and research more it.

Like in the next couple of hours if possible..ta!

Depends how they recieve it - there's no hard and fast rule.
These days lots of people shoot things on camera phones so that can be emailed to the computer network and then dumped down onto a server for playout.
Used to be that all amateur video would be shot on a camcorder or such like - then it was just a matter of getting the tape transferred onto a stock that could be edited and played out.
