She never presented TOTP, although her Radio 1 Breakfast Show weather/travel predecessor, Sybil Ruscoe, co-presented on a handful of the 1989 editions.
I remember Diane from Steve Wright's Radio 1 shows, then on Simon Mayo's breakfast show and she also presented on The 8:15 From Manchester, a Saturday morning kid's show in the early 90s. I hadn't realised that she'd been on North West Tonight for nearly 25 years!!
It really is shocking news. She always came across as a thoroughly pleasant lady. I'm sure they'll be paying a well-deserved tribute to her on North West Tonight this evening.

Very sad news. I must admit I didn't know who she was until I saw the bbc website earlier. She was a very beautiful lady and well loved. 51 is no age to die and from a horrible disease as well

I saw a bit of North West Today earlier. I can’t imagine what it must be like going on in those circumstances, talking about a colleague. Completely understandable for them to be emotional on air.
