GOOD FOR DERMOT thats what i say and i will miss not wathcing him and sian on the breakfast slot. i hope Bill doesnt get his job as im not keen on him too serious for breakfast!! i will miss Natatsha and dermot as they have definately kept the bbc the most watchable channel for news.
I think he's going because he knows the Director General won't ask him to take a pay cut. He isn't that good to be honest, doesn't have the gravitas. And Bill Turnbull is actually very funny and has a dry wit.
Does anyone know if he's going exclusive with Sky?
I also liked him on Eggheads and his Treasure Hunt series for the BBC, so would like to think he might continue with some of the stuff other than news.

Will be nice to see Dermot on Sky News, I've always been a fan, he seems like a genuine guy and I wish him all the best. It'd also be nice if Bill took over Breakfast full time, another decent bloke who always seems to have been ignored despite his obvious talent.
I'm not surprised though as although he was good on Breakfast, that was never his best slot and he always looked much better when presenting the Six or the Ten. However, there was no room for him and considering George, somewhat surprisingly I think, got the Six, Dermot would have only been left on Breakfast. Sky is a new challenge and after going on five years at the BBC there's no surprise that he's going.
Hopefully Bill and Sian will now become Mon-Thur presenters of Breakfast, as I always thought they should, with Charlie and Susannah on Fri-Sun.
