How would you know what he is like off screen? He seemed nice on click online lol. BTW, why are these messages on the 'dermot' thread, let's take it to BBC News.

At the time of the BBC News strike this year, there were many posts from people who work at the Beeb describing Cole's character in a negative way. So these are not rumours fabricated by people who are not in a position to judge him. They are based on general feeling within the BBC. But this in no way means that he is not a capable presenter, these are just comments on his character. As far as his journalistic history is concerned, he moved from being a newspaper reporter to a television reporter/producer to an anchor on ITN, CNN and Sky News during the 1980s and early 1990s.

Hope that helps.

Thanks scottish. What about Aktor Khan, he had to do a whole three hours of breakfast during the strike, I wonder what his character is like. He is scary, he looks like a really old person trying to look young.

There is a story that Dermot Murnaghan may inherit an Army Barracks in Omagh if the MOD closes it. Apparently it was obtained from his great great grandfather or something.

There is a small piece on the story on this page but I'm afraid there isn't too much more information.
