Gold medallist Denise Lewis will present the sports news on Midlands Today, the BBC confirmed today.

"Having had many years of support from BBC Midlands Today, I'm looking forward to presenting and reporting the stories that matter from my home patch," said the heptathlete in a statement.

Lewis will appear on Midlands Today twice a week.

She starts this Wednesday during the main 6.30 programme. Still Steve's Slot IMO, No matter how many gold medals you've got...
