BBC 1 has the slogan - "Major Breaking News on BBC TWO now"

Don't worry we've got a professional who has had over 6 years experience in the media

BBC One had a graphic up over Doctor who: "Major breaking news on BBC Two now"- (white gill sans on blue if you're interested in that sort of thing)

I would assume BBC1 will have a quick newsflash, unless they're on automation at this time of night.

Very dramatic 'MAJOR' breaking news.

The poor guy on Euronews is really struggling. While the others have got studio guests to interview, he's essentially stuck with background information and translating whatever the French guy is saying.

All news channels now reporting confirmation of the death. ITV/CH4/CH5 not though. Not important enough for them.

No newsflash on BBC1 - looks like a technical person has just thrown the caption on. The announcements sound automated (although to be fair it's during the Sign Zone and there a little pointless anyway...) and I'll guess they wont set up the BBC1 newsroom for it, but they could have mentioned it again.

Iraqi state TV is showing pictures of .... US Iraqis celebrating. That really doesn't strike me as the best of ideas.

What an extraordinary night.

I hope the backlash from this will not become apparent and that Iraq can now begin to move on.

On that note - I'm off to bed...

Sky News is very "sombre"...quite bizzare reporting. Showng a live feed of Baghdad, 7am in morning.
