Late at night so the print media are rushing out second editions.
Could change news bulletins lengths for those shortened by the world cup.
Remember the death of Dawn Sturgess as well - another big story to fit into bulletins along with Thailand and the world cup. And then on Friday and the weekend it's President Trump's visit which will surely be near blanket coverage on the news channels.

Most people can get the news one way or another these days. I highly doubt news bulletin times will change, just because of this.

In that case, TV bulletins may as well not bother airing at all, any day.

BoJo walked now. May's position seriously untenable now. Could be a busy news week!

RT, Bloomberg, & France 24 are also taking it. NHK World has a ticker along the bottom of the screen (which is fairly significant for NHK considering that the ticker is normally exclusive to domestic stories). Al Jazeera is showing the address on mute with a correspondent outside Westminster.

Wonder if we'll get a lot of extended news on BBC and ITV if May does go? Unlikely to be another General Election - unless Corbyn and the Opposition benches can mastermind a Vote of No Confidence in HM's Government, which is absolutely winnable. But we could well see May stepping down in a not dissimilar fashion to the last female PM.
