Is this move a financial saving one? I wouldn't have thought that the Westminster studios have much going on in them on a Sunday morning.

Most likely. They're also going to axe Business Today and move Breakfast out of TC7 to N8 (N24) from next year.
I think you can expect lots of changes to save money over the next few years. Why staff Millbank when you already have a full team in N8?

I think its about time the unions etc. held a vote of confidence in the DG Mark Thompson. These cuts are going way too far, slashing budgets and axing journalist posts. If you want to save money start by axing BBC Three and replacing it with a low cost repeat channel where the best of the BBC is repeated.
Moving Breakfast into the News 24 studio is stupid, N8 is not suitable for the type of programme Breakfast is, especially 7 days a week, never mind the weekend where it barely gets away with it.
We've already seen that the move of Dateline to the News 24 set has had an effect on the programme. Their are normally 4 guests on the programme, sometimes 5, usually an American reporter based in London included. For some reason, only 3 guests can be situated around the desk on the News 24 set, and an American reporter was missing, meaning their is a lack of perspective. Not the best idea for what the programme is supposed to be, foreign reporters from different countries discussing the news events of the week.

I'm only going to put the other view here now but if you axed BBC Three you wouldn't get all the new comedy shows (Little Britain), things like Little Angels, Casanova, Flashmob, etc etc - the one thing people complain about is repeats - surely new home grown UK TV is what people want. What is the big difference between Breakfast where it is now and it coming from News 24? I would say to the average viewer not a massive amount.

That's interesting. Whilst they are going to extend business coverage on BBC World from next week, they are going to cut it down on News 24.
Will Business Today be replaced by an edition of WBR or will there be no replacement at all?

This is a complete guess here. But they could be planning to simulcast the 21:30 World Business Report on News 24 as well as World.

Have you ever heard of UKTV? You know, all those channels on which the best of the BBC is repeated?
And where would the *fab* 7O'Clock News show go, if BBC 3 were to become a repeats channel?
