It's about time Dateline (westminster) was treated to a new studio. I wouldn't be suprised if they get the white glass top desk as seen across all BBC tv news platforms. They may however be kitting out Westmister in time for the election as well.

A makeover at Millbank or is the programme moving somewhere else?

Yes - i think this may be time for a tart-up, just before the expected Election.
Remember the fab green House of Commons-style sofas they used to have, before the corporate make-over?

Finally!! Its been so long since we've had to put up with the current one!
Oh and I was also watching an old video and at then end I noticed it was BBC World and i'd never even heard of it then even watched it but it was in 1998 during the flags era and dateline london was on and I quite liked the set that had back then. It was were the current one is now although the desk was a huge coloured roll of film! which I quite liked. It could also fit in 5 quests unlike the four they have now!
I hope it does get a new look like the BBC News 24 and BBC World set!

OK we've had News24, World, America and now Millbank, yet no new national studio....is it me or is there a lack of urgency when its comes to having that dog house revamped in N6?
Just a thought.

Indeed - looked a bit like the elements in the title sequence, ISTR.
They occasionally try to fit five guests around the current set, and it doesn't quite fit.

Well, the national studio is hardly massively dissimilar to the N24/World look. As far as I can see, it is 'corporatised'.
Wouldn't surprise me at all to see a lot of News 24 output from Westminster during the election... would be good to have regular news programming coming from there in the daytime, rather than the interminable two way interviews across a projector screen.

Just a thought - with all the cuts at the BBC are they likely to spend money on a major new National News set when there is a move to central London in only a few years.

So no changes to Westminster then?

Well it's hardly much of a new set really - just moving it into the News 24 studio - will be new to World viewers I suppose. No reason to get excited I'm afraid.

On yesterdays programme they had 5 guests there was one guest right up to Nik Gowing practically hiding behind him!
