Told you so. Nobody believed me though. I'm glad Mr Smilely is off our mainstream bulletins for good.

No, no Nelad, on this occasion, I shall have to disagree with you.

Ms Hill is truly excellent.

On the other hand the old bag who presents the Ten on Fridays and Sundays is useless.

Wink

Each to their own I guess, but as far as I am concerned, Jane Hill always seems to read the news as if I am 5 years old.

I find George Alagiah to be the worst culprit of that. He's a good reporter, but put him behind a desk and he makes me feel like I'm in nursery again.

I'm sorry he's going, I've always preferred him on the One O'Clock News to Ford and Raworth.

Wasn't this rumoured earlier this year??

Yes, My site reported this news in July, but were told by the BBC that the story was incorrect.

Your site..... and a national newspaper! IIRC the Daily Mail printed how much money he was being offered, it was quite a bit!

Hopefully we will see more variety at weekends.

Hopefully we will see more of Moira, who is a massivly under used presenter, who would be perfect for the weekends. As much as i rate Jane, i believe it would disrupt the News 24 schedual too much to have her constantly covering the weekends. Perhaps the BBC were expecting this back in May, prompting Moira and Sian to announce that she would be the Weekend presenter. However i believe that she will not be selected to present the 1 o'clock News, maybee this role be awarded to Sian when she returns leaving Kate and Mishal to cover Breakfast, with Susanna Reid filling in when a third presenter is needed.

It would be indeed nice to see Moira on the Weekend bulletins once more.

Good luck to Darren Jord o n at AJI!!

I wouldn't mind taking a guess that George will take the one twice a week, combining it with a bit of world reporting... or perhaps taking the six once a week.

Dermot to take over six, and then bill and sian reunited on weekday breakfast.

=Everything works out nicely ...... (except for the Kaplinsky problem...)

EDIT: This move would also see Moira taking the weekend bulletins.

Yes, Dermot, will be a good replacement... does anyone know where Darren is going to then? (eg; another News channel?)

Al Jazeera International. It's mentioned numerous times.
