I think it's a good appointment. I'm just anticipating the usual predictable BBC bashing from certain elements of the press.

I never realised the SP sign off, "If it's Sunday, it's the Sunday Politics" was inspired by NBC's Meet the Press - "If it's Sunday, it's Meet the Press".

The original MTP sign-off originally created by the late Tim Russert when he began moderating the show in 1991. I found the copy very trite and lacking in sincerity.

Wrong definition of copy. I'm talking about the Andrew Neil version, which I found very trite and lacking in sincerity.
