Does The Daily Politics mess up Sky+ recordings for anyone else? I have it on series link and it seems that more times than not it never stops recording so I end up with The Politics Show and then everything else that is on after it on BBC Two right up to the time I notice it and have to reboot the box to stop the recording.

I've seen this happen to other programmes on very rare occasions but it seems to be happening to The Daily Politics on a regular basis.

if it causes problems with your Sky box, why not watch it on iPlayer?

Not everyone wants to watch TV on the internet!

...hmm, Sky appears to be the only platform that doesn't have iPlayer, any ideas as to why?

Andrew Neill usually has Friday off, why is he listed as presenting Friday? ... does this mean that This Week and the Blue Nun will be for the chop?

The iPlayer software isn't compatible with Sky's, and I think the BBC insist on that before allowing access.

However, I'm sure I read somewhere that the BBC Trust had recently decreed that they must be more flexible in that approach.

There will be an additional opt-out for Scotland during the Thursday edition of the Daily Politics starting on January 26th.

Scottish viewers will get their own show from 12:00 and then rejoin the main programme after half an hour.

I wish there would extend that slot to 35mins to allow FULL broadcast of FMQ plus comments

I suspect there will be a wee bit more flexibilty on Thursdays with BBC Scotland than exists at the moment. The problem, of course, is about having to be off-air for the junction and GMT. If it's simply a matter of joining The Daily Politics then, I suspect, a bit of flexibility is possible.

Yes, I suspect there will be a little more flexibility allowed, which is always useful.

I'd presume this means the Thursday programme will come under the Daily Politics brand rather than the strange Politics Scotland set-up they have at present where they have similar opening titles and graphics but different music and a different programme name.

No word on what will happen to the separate Wednesday afternoon show.

That Separate programme is being kept, I get the feeling the Thursday programme will be also kept as PS. there also no word of the change of name on the Politics show Scotland,

The smartest move would be to asked for the pre-record slips and insert them in to the Main 90 mins for Scotland, which is always live, since isable is also on the radio 7-9am,

I'm ok on BBC Two, but I tried plussing it on Parly the once, as I missed it & as the Parly EPG never seems to be updated/amended live, so I missed half the programme!

(Annoying when you want to watch PMQ's at 730pm Wednesday & there's a live debate on!)
