As hopeless as Chuka Umunna was in his interview just now, the way that the interview kept involving showing polls and graphs on an iPad and then on-screen was very farcical. They kept chucking them in mid-interview and seemed to go quite off-topic from what they were talking about before.

It Seems someone at the network has talked with Scotland to try and stop the crashing out of the network feed. So Scotland now goes up to proper cut of point, and still gets the full hour.

Similar sort of jiggary pokery happens on BBC World's The Hub frequently. Nik Gowing will often be standing at The Hub, interviewing a guest via split screen. Nik is looking into us via his camera, as is the guest he's interviewing. When in fact the guest is sat only three metres from him at ninety degrees orientation. To most viewers, they wouldn't even flinch. But to us in the know, it's freaky to see it and often the guest or Nik could be tempted to look away from the camera and look at the person being interviewed nearby, thus spoiling the illusion.

Clever stuff.

And the point of that is. Why not just interview the guest face to face?

Also not sure how they managed to do this 'supposedly live interview' with Andrew Neil at the end of the Andrew Marr Show this morning, which shows both Andrews in TC7: but with different images on the Barco screens on the left-hand-side of the studio in one of the shots of Andrew Marr.

Very well done, however they did it! If it was recorded beforehand, it certainly didn't seem like it when it was slotted in after the news bulletin and before the 'wash-up' chat before the end credits. Wink

There was even an audible echo of the "Thank you, Suzanna" from Andrew Marr on the other side of the studio as she finished her bulletin and handed back to him: so it's unclear which bit was actually recorded.

I thought i'd seen that backdrop somewhere before...

A-Z of Parliament, and Yesterday in Parliament are both BBC Parliament filler shows. So this is either a way to pad the show, OR, they will be upping the production values and production of these shows are handed over to the Daily/Sunday Politics team/s.

Has anyone else notice that Scotland only has about 10 secs of the credits with only two names highlighted while the network has about 30 sec and long drawn out view of the set.
