Alongside Channel 4 News, one of the most under-rated tv shows (in terms of talking points here on TVF)!

Anyway, since Jenny Scott left the show, there has been a few females doing the rounds in her space...Jo Coburn, Geeta Guru Murthy, Anita Annad, and this week Liz McKean...and with this being the last week of the show before its Autumn return, I wondered if any forumers had thoughts on who the new regular female host should be.

IMO, Anita Annad of Five Live showed the most potential to develop a cracking relationship alongside Andrew, but have been rather impressed by the more dedpan Liz Mackean over the last 2 days....presumably one of them will get the job on a regualr basis come the autumn, so anyone have anything to add?!

I find it embarrassing to watch, personally. It's a blatant attempt at making politics "accessible", but it fails spectacularly and ends up being more patronising than anything.

I'd rather it was similar in style to Working Lunch - not too formal, but still intelligent and witty.

This Week all the way for me.... Funny, eccentric and surprisingly honest opinions and revelations from Portillo and Abbott.

makes Thursdays around Midnight fun.

I agree DVB. It's quite an amusing programme and well worth staying up late for on a Thursday night. I believe somebody complained to POV about the constant references to "Blue Nun" wine; they obviously didn't get the joke as they are hardly praising it's virtues!

Abbot & Portillo (AKA "Itchy & Scratchy") make a good team and I enjoy the banter between them and Andrew Neil. I've noticed of late that they make irreverant comments about Portillo's "gay experience" in his youth, although he takes them in the spirit in which they were intended. Definately an under-rated show.

I also enjoy "The Daily Politics", quite a few unprepared politicians have been caught off guard with some deft questioning. "Working Lunch" is well worth a watch; aside from the witty banter of the presenters it's amazing what titbits of information you can pick up, especially in their consumer section on Fridays.

I do like the Daily Politics and This Week, Jo Coburn has been pretty good IMO on DP, but I haven't caught it with the others.

Liz MacKeen has always been good on Newsnight when filling in so its no surprise to me to find out she has been good on the Daily Politics too.

BTW - believe Anita Anand has been announced as permanent new presenter, replacing the recently departed Jennie Scott?

Indeed...good choice IMO, and I see that she won't be leaving Five Live....also a good move!
