I think the difference here is that the BBC do have reporters/correspondents on the scene - SKy obviously don't.
I am just guessing but I would imagine that Sky have just bought in the truck from the nearest facilities company.
Also the police may now be stopping the other trucks getting near to the scene so they can get their vehicles in and out.
The BBC were lucky in having someone on the train and having the regional network so had info much quicker than Sky.
ITV Border did well to get there quickly.
Sky may now have the pictures but I think Gillian is way out of her depth in comparsion to Tim on News 24.
I feel for Gillian now - all interviewees are not going to blame or pin point the causes of this incident. A danger of rolling news when you exhaust interviewing loads of people. She is trying though.
Katie is doing rather well considering her role with Sky. She is not sinking by any means!
I know - I don't know the full extent of the technicalities of live feeds however I know when I visited a journalist you have to book a 'line' for the live feed to come through. Could be confused though.
Katie Stallard, Sky News: "These trains do travel on electric track"
Quite. And much as I like Gillian Joseph, her eyesight doesn't seem up to much.
I'm still a bit suspicious that Sky may have nicked ITV's sat-truck.
Well it is possible that the ITV truck is from an independent company and they had it first and now Sky have paid the money for it. SKY do buy in a lot of trucks.
The news broke before nine o'clock cause five news announced it at about 8.57 at the start of their news update. Anyway tonight proves SKY's slogan wrong First for Breaking News.

As had been said News 24 were way ahead. From memory it was about 25/20 to 9. Certainly before Newswatch was due to start which is why I had News 24 on.

Which isn't at all bad considering the emergency services weren't called until 8.26 (so they said) so it got to air maybe around 15-20 minutes after the actual incident.
I see a press conference has been called for 2am - which is the latest I can remember for one.

Sorry hit the wrong key - have edited my original quote. I meant 9 not 8.
Also interesting to see that News 24 obviously have the same feed coming into the building that Sky are using - you can see the blue flashing lights on the huge screens behind Tim but can't use them as they are Sky probably being put out by one of the agencies like APTN or Reuters.
Well why is Gillian in Anna Botting's new slot? If she was on she would be much better with this breaking news. But although I don't like Gillian that much, she's not that bad.
