I'm surprised they've not given Paul Brand the chance to replace Peston and have Anushka in her usual role.

Wouldn’t be surprised if Paul Brand was Preston’s successor at some point in the future.

I hope so, Paul Brand's interviews compared to Peston's would be both shorter and longer at the same time.

Interesting situation on Look Levy tonight 07/12/20

In the usual radio style presentation Levy posed the question 'what are your thoughts on the vaccine'?

The most awkward reply was, 'it was developed quickly, would you take it Peter?'

Mr Levy did not answer that one!

That was a bit naughty from whoever was selecting the comments to use to put him in that position!

Is tonight’s the first time a 5pm press briefing hasn’t aired on BBC One?

No, a few of them haven't.

Unusual for it not be on bbc1 with the health secretary.

I think for them to go on BBC One, it usually has to feature Boris.

These days it does. They’ve obviously got bored of them, too much positive news, vaccines, R rate going down.

Wait until the day the daily case numbers stopped being published, think social media, Reddit and certain forums might implode!

Hopefully once we get most of the population vaccinated (after we get past Winter and hopefully before Easter Weekend), the sooner they do stop publishing the daily updates, the better as that will be the cue for life in general to start returning to normal.

It seems somebody forgot to check for any "friendly" greetings.

Warning: Obscene hand gesture

So we had another example of the BBC News channel running a full top of hour sequence at 6pm, only for it to be done again with the BBC One presenter 3 minutes later.

I really don't understand why they can't just play the half past sting at the top of hour on these occasions, the presenter goes through a couple of stories on the catwalk and then let the BBC One presenter start a proper bulletin (or simply run the previous hour late).
