They went a bit over the top when it came to Leicester in my opinion - but I do agree that Aberdeen should be receiving more coverage on the national news - not just for those affected by it - but to also give some insight into what could eventually happen in other parts of the country.

I guess one difference with Aberdeen is that it's not the first local lockdown. It's natural that the first (Leicester) would get enhanced coverage, especially if these are to become a norm. I imagine there's probably a happy medium, though, that wasn't quite found for either occurrence.

Leicester was used as an anti-Government 'nobody gave us any warning' story. St Nicola doesn't get negative coverage. Just look how 'two time lockdown breaker' Mayor of Leicester, Sir Peter Soulsby was/is given a free ride.
