One of the biggest positives of the current situation has been Simon and Jane doing the One and a couple of hours on the NC on the same day. They both deserve to be on BBC One but are good at working with slightly more freedom on the NC which makes them some of the best presenters for both types of programming.

I can't see it happening but I would love the current set up in the afternoons to remain when lockdown is completely finished. Jane Hill would really suit Afternoon Live.
Stay alert. Control the virus. Save lives.

What on earth is going on? Soooo many of us Warned, Banned.....people I've known on here for years....for what?

I've been warned again over a post I made in this thread - "Coronavirus | General TV News Coverage" and because the site is built the way it is - I have no idea why?

Nearing being over this forum! 15 years plus!

I've tried in private so now I'm saying it in public: how you can be so unaware of what you've literally just posted that you can't see why you've been warned?

Your post (and Brekkie's and one of Rolling News') had no attempt to talk about TV news coverage. It was, yet again, a political post. How is this so hard to comprehend?

Perhaps Asa if you fixed the link in the private message when warning or banning people so that we can actually see why we’ve been warned or banned it may be a little easier for all of us to understand.

The link behind the word ‘POST’ does not work hence why myself and others in private cannot understand what warrants these continuos hits.

Thanks.

It’s a fair point. The next update will quote the original post in the PM, in case it has already been deleted.

I've noticed when using Skype that sometimes it irritatingly flips the picture, but have always corrected it.

During this interview on C4 News tonight, the woman seemed oblivious to the fact that this had happened, so the message on the 'cleverly placed screen' behind her, looked as incomprehensible as if it was written in Serbo-Croat. Shocked (as did her 'evol' neon sign)

Coronavirus pushed right down to story 3 on the Ten tonight, probably the first time since early March!

Oddly though the label on the bottle to the left of the screen is the correct way round!

I think she's tried to be too clever here. This kind of software often flips the video in the preview you see but sends it to others unflipped.

She's flipped the image on the screen behind her and turned the neon sign round so it's right on the preview that she sees, not realising that it's wrong for everybody else.
Write that down in your copybook now.

Ater all the Newsnight furore last week, it seems like they've sailed very close to the wind again last night.
While I myself have no problem with their broadcast last night, I could understand if some were annoyed.

Emily Maitlis's opening implied that Boris Johnson thought excess deaths were something to be proud of and then you had a chart brought up about UK deaths vs the EU27 with limited coveats (and any there were were long after the horse had bolted and images were being shared far and wide on social media).

I think Newsnight probably gets away with it on this occassion as Emily's intro was after a clip of Boris saying he was 'proud of their record' and Nick Watt did add the significant caveats after showing the graph (that different countries are at different stages with the virus, stats are recorded differently in different members and that deaths were deaths registered on that day rather than those that took place on the day).
That all feels slightly more iffy to me than Emily's intro last week that seemed to so annoy the Beeb.
