You may or may not be aware that The Apprentice (much like BGT and presumably X-Factor and others) flashes things onto their official Social Media too alongside the show, presumably they're done live and not scheduled otherwise that's going to both spoil everything and look incredibly surreal.
Well, my reference was to an incident a few years ago when an episode was delayed and Radio Times were tweeting along with the show but ahead of broadcast so they'd clearly already been given a preview and scheduled them in advance.
That was my other thought, quickly edit The Apprentice down to 55 or 50 minutes.
It's an indie production, so not like they can just fire up an edit suite and do a cutdown - it would have to be something they'd have had to consider in advance; and also need some lines to TX - something not all post houses have.
How many trails can they drop from the running order to still show The Apprentice and keep the 10 on time?
I bet there is edited version... so if may win its 5min newsflash..
Why would there be an edited version?
This has got all the hallmarks of one of those really messy shows where they rush off air moments after the announcement, despite being on air for ages beforehand.

Anyway anybody who knows anything about The Apprentice knows the first five minutes or so is a recap, so that can go. That and all the sweeping shots of London. Can fit it into 45 minutes easily, 30 or less if you cut literally everything bar the core. But I doubt any of it will go as its been commissioned for 60 minutes so...
Also remember the spin off on BBC Two, if the main show doesn't go on air the spin off can't either as it would spoil the result, which would leave a 30 minute gap on BBC Two.
Other episodes may be able to be edited down but the interview episode really needs to be longer if anything and has very little dead time.
Most media publications do get previews, but its dangerous particularly on a night like this to schedule anything on social media. I have an abject feeling BGT used to schedule Facebook posts until the time some sporting event overran and that threw all the plans out.
But anyway... as you were. Time will tell at 9pm what will happen. Last continuity announcement I heard on BBC Two was in reference to the regular scheduled programme. BBC One continuity is using a tone that seems to suggest they don't quite know how the schedule is going to follow.
Ooooh a special theme tune - sounded like a David Lowe composition as still used some of the ingredients of a normal BBC News theme tune but much more orchestral etc than usual. They've been preparing for this for a while then!

I was about to say that. The BBC can’t just start hacking up someone else’s production at half an hours notice. It’s obvious the Ten will be late, which is not great considering most people will be tuning in for that.

Also makes newsnight late and may well require some filler on 2 for 10 minutes if they go down that avenue.
