A few months ago I had to drive very early on a Sunday morning and was surprised to hear a Sky News bulletin on Absolute Radio at 5:00am. It was unusual as you don’t hear Sky News being referenced, as most of the bulletins are read by Absolute newsreaders and reporters are often quoted as ‘our reporter XXX’, even though they are Sky’s reporters.
I'm sure Magic 105.4 uses the direct feed from IRN from the 20 00 bulletins as they end with "From Sky News, I'm xx". At other times, they now end with "That's the latest from Magic, I'm xx". As both Absolute and Magic 105.4 are owned by Bauer I would have presumed the pattern was the same.

Yes, it's similar for Jazz FM, weekday mornings the bullitens are often read by Zora Suleman, presumably they appaer on some other Bauer owned stations ? Off peak, Sky branded bullitens from Osterley.

Is she the one who used to do RI:SE news (after it dropped Chris Rogers and his "Six Pack of News").

Are the posts about the news broadcast on commercial radio stations relevant for a thread about ITV News?

Yawn, bet you are fun at the works Christmas party...
Ugh, the thread's been split, but my post at the top wasn't about radio news! Confused

Yes, because your post gives context to the conversation that followed.

IRN have supplied Magic with bescope bulletins since 2003 when ITN had the contract.
That arrangement ended several years ago - Bauer produce Magic’s bulletins themselves during the day, and take the pre-recorded Sky News Radio/IRN service off-peak.
Do you know when this was? I'm thinking it would have been around Sep 2017 or 2015 as a whole heap of changes happened to the station around those times..

2015 - after Verity Geere left as the regular breakfast newsreader (the only Magic news team member on the Bauer payroll at that point) following the Neil Fox debacle.

Around the same time, Andrew Bailey quit as Bauer’s national head of news and the team was restructured to provide an in-house service for all the company’s national stations during daytime.

Ah thanks, Kolonel. I only really truly remember Magic after around Jan/Feb 2015 as that was when I started listening to it daily. Before that it was mainly on and off. Personally I think their new “More of the Songs You Love” mantra is bollocks but each to one’s own I suppose Smile
