CNN - Your World Today

I've just moved to Germany for a few months and for some reason I get CNN all day but BBC World only in the evenings. I've been watching Your World Today with Jim Clancy and Hala Gourani and it is simply dreadful. Stilted, naff and totally uninteresting - more like Alan Partridge than a leading news channel. I don't know if it's the presenters or the programme but it is a huge relief when CNN switched to the professionalism of London.

YWT was better before,just like the channel itself, in the old newsroom set with Jim & Zain and Michael & Daljit. Hala was better while she was in London. But I don't think it's all that terrible.

I really do not like Hala reading the news. Too... dry.

I was in Spain in late August and really liked watching Richard and Coleen, Rosemary, Ralitsa... thar's more how it should be..

i agree. i get bored watching jim clancy, although he has a vast experience of been a reporter I dont think his anchoring skills are really up to scratch, hala would be good if with a different partner I think

I always wanted to talk about this.
Jim Clancy is very annoying especially after the break when he say " welcome back to your world today, we are seen in over 200 countries and territory" and, "also we want to bring CNN INT and US viewers up to speed with the top stories we are covering". Why BBC WORLD don't say that when they are broadcasting on PBS AND BBC AMERICA. Believe me I am in the US it just looks bad. He also try to talk down to the international viewers so as to please the US viewers.
CNN US always cut after the second commercial.
we do not get to see the entire program.
Zain was the best even Coleen, Rosemary, Ralitsa are all better than Hala. I don't knopw why she left her anchoring job to go and be a reporter that is hardly used.
If you compare BBC WORLD and CNN at the same hour BBC WORLD always have more and varied stories, as compare to CNN INT.
Nisha is such a breath of fresh air.
All of the stories are about the middle east.
why is that always the case especially when CNN US and other US media global stories are about the middle east.

on cnn US of they cut away after the commercials on your world today, what programming is shown instead

I like the way london is producing more programmes these days its good

one thing that gets me though, is BUSINESS INTERNATIONAL i didnt have cnni for a very long time, before when it was on 11am and 2pm uk time hosted by beccky anderson it was really good, just concentraing on the world of business, and brought all kinds of variety of business news. now since ive got cnni, BUSINESS INTERNATIONAL is still around, but I dont get why they call it business international still, they have a market round up from someone in new york, but the rest of the programme just concentrates on news?

can anyone explain this, not sounding thick, I just dont get it

After the second commercial break CNN US comes in and do stories from the US incuding weather. that will lead to the half hour 12:30 ET, then commercial and back to Your World Today. Sometimes we don't see YWT, instead when news breaks, they will cover it dipping in and out of YWT when they want to.
