Campbell Brown who joined CNN from NBC will have her show debut this month. Her new promo is very Euro like.

It seems, like you said - very European. It seems very CNNI aswell, nothing brash and busy going on. Will be interesting to see.

Very nice, I like it. CNN US is the best of all american news channels. They have the best sets and graphics.

Fox News makes me wanna puke, so tacky and cheap.

ALL american news stations make me want to puke!
No.. I'll rephrase that... If I bought some very dark sunglasses and ear defenders, I'd be OK.

What is it with their sets, graphics etc? They replicate how the anchors and reporters speak. LOUDly

Ouch!

Everywhere I go, and the subject of news comes up, without hesitation most people say they prefer BBC America news (aka BBC World Opt-ins). They're not just being polite to me because of my accent, they genuinely think the BBC tells the news as it really is, unlike CNN etc who barely touch a story if Americans aren't involved.

They also prefer the reporting style and presentation. BBC America (erm World) isn't in your face shouting at you to pay them some attention

I'll shut up now, heading into work, so have to put on a completely different hat now! Wink

(edit) Oh, I forgot... I was speaking to a retired transmitter engineer, who was telling me before "all this new fangled digital equipment" was installed, they were forever having to re-align the audio circuits after the news was broadcast because the Ops at the station would push the signals too high

Kinda says it all really

CNN US at least has great sets. Just look at these HD pics of AM from NY. It looks fabulous. Razz Razz

Well for some reason the Americans always monitor sound levels using V(irtual) U(seless) meters rather than PPMs (as we in the UK and most of Europe do) - which has always made "Zero level" tone an interesting line-up issue...

Must admit I am enjoying CNN's coverage of the US primaries and many of the anchors don't appear to have the ego's you see on news channels in the UK.
