I just want to try something on my TV Tuner, which I just have bought last tuesday...
and I know that this video is somewhat cloudy, and I blame that to our cable provider.
this is a transition between a live presentation of Fareed Zakaria GPS to CNN World News with Jonathan Mann today (22 June) at 01:58 to 02:02 Philippine Time.
CNNi have got their big name Atlanta presenters out this week.end Hala Gorani on now for example. Jonathan Mann was on yesterday too. Though Ralitsa still got some of her usual shift too yesterday, and a CNN US simulcast (Though she is on the Iran Desk today)
And yes fantastic coverage this weekend. Most of these pre-recorded programmes that CNNi shows are very good, but they are shown far too many times (even allowing for different worldwide time zones) and at the expense of news bulletins. Political Mann for example is scheduled to be shown at 8pm UK time on Saurdays and 9.30pm UK time on Sundays. Surely both showings aren''t needed? Any chance of more weekend news bulletins please CNN?
I was praying for Political Mann tonight, frankly the endless Iran coverage like every other big story that happens is OTT- there is only so much grainy mobile footage, speculation & expert opinion- most of it stating the obvious that you can stand day after day, week after week etc.
AFAIK CNN weekend presenters normally work 8 hour shifts. Fine when all you do is present headlines and an occasional half hour bulletin. But working 8 hours continuously, I guess CNN decided to shorten the shifts, hence the need for extra presenters
And I guess they wanted their biggest names on where possible. Ralitsa obviously (sadly) isn't the highest profile presenter, compared to say Hala
just another random post for CNN International... for the benefit of viewers outside europe.
I have recorded all four UP NEXT C bumps (I only named that because this is the 3rd version of the "Up Next" bump), which I think is intended for European audience, particularly in the UK...
but it's almost 4am here in Manila, so I'll just post one, which is from QMB...
I like Adrian Finighan's vocal impersonation of Richard Quest when he closes QMB each evening...............Richard appears to be on a long break this time. Not that I am complaining - Adrian is good.
Caught Becky Anderson's programme for the first time a few days ago - Connect the World. Nice concept, but comes across as a really slow, slow programme and somewhat dull! I am surprised so - Becky usually livens things up.
From what I've seen previously, it's Max Foster that fills in for Becky, and I agree with what you've said about Connect the World. It's a rather boring show.
Richard's off for two weeks apparently, this is his second week off, but as said previously, he got called back to report on Michael Jackson's death.
I have to say I'm watching CNN a lot more these days (even though I'm a Freeview viewer). Their coverage of the Iranian Elections has been second to none.
Oh, and Quest Means Business isn't that bad either
