I suspect the tones are only present on some feeds leaving Atlanta, and not all feeds. I wouldn't be surprised if the distribution feeds to broadcasters around the world who opt-in and opt-out of programming, but aren't integrated into CNN more tightly, have these tones to drive stuff automatically, whereas more integrated CNN operations have talkback if required?
I'm not quite sure where CNN International fits in on Freeview, but if they are time sharing with Rocks & Co (which launches Thursday and runs from 4-9pm), I'm sure something could have been done to get coverage up from 4pm today.

It fits on the CITV/TeleG/Gems TV1 and TopUp Anytime slot, don't know how it is in Wales, but that's the case for the rest of the UK.
Been watching a lot of CNN's coverage on Virgin cable tonight and it's been first class. If I didn't have the chance to watch it, I'd probably opt for Sky. As has been said in the other thread, the BBC have ruined this occasion with ridiculous filler commentary, like "and as you can see, we're still waiting on the main bit of this to start". Terrible.
CNN's Wolf and Anderson aren't afraid to say "let's listen in" and just let you watch the parade and hear the crowd cheer for a few minutes. No commentary needed - and you get a far better feel of the atmosphere. Top notch.

Cheers. So highly unlikely they'd have been able to negotiate their hours then.
I like the fact they've tried to achieve consistency with the CNN US graphics - I think that's a good idea. But their positioning of the CNN logo and the globe is god-awful. I know they're trying to retain the CNNI branding, but it looks far worse than what CNN US has.
I'm also a bit disappointed that they only appear to have changed the supers. The full screen graphics are the same, and simply don't match. I haven't seen the titles yet, though if the graphics on the screen behind the presenter in the temp CNN Atlanta set are anything to go by, they seem to be the same.
