I’m wondering if international viewers are going to be subjected to the Georgia Senators’ debate on Sunday as well?

Yes, we probably will.
Either that or more golf...

In fairness to CNNI the Georgia Senate races will decide who controls the US Senate during the first two years of Biden’s presidency. They are therefore extremely important and will make international headlines when they happen in January. They will have a huge impact on how much Biden will actually be able to do.

Sure and I can understand CNN International simulcasting any special coverage of the results CNN US does on January 5th for that reason. However, it's a stretch to argue that CNNI should have aired the debate though it's not surprising considering CNNI has this year almost become a full-time simulcast of CNN US...

New Topic but has anyone seen this new CNN App on Virgin's new 360 set top box? There's additional speculation that Virgin Media will launch the HD version of CNN International finally in the coming months coinciding with this agreement with Turner for allowing Virgin Media to have a CNN app on it's newer 'Virgin TV 360' set-top boxes

That would be fantastic. I’ve 360, but the Republic of Ireland line up. No CNN app yet.

Watching the electoral college vote on CNN had the feel of a UK general election night when everyone had an idea of what the final results would likely look like (thanks to the exit polls released at 22.00), and the announcements at the electoral college venues being like the returning officer declaring the results in public. Sometimes, these key declarations were broadcast on tape-delay.

I noticed that CNN International seems to have regained access to their raw feed to CNN USA. The past two days, the CNN US shows on CNNI don't have the ticker and the US Weather flipper (for New Day).

I wonder if they are actually getting back to regular CNNI programming (pre-Covid) after the Biden inauguration?

I'll believe it when I see it - you'd hope at the very least though we'd get Hala's regular slot back (whether it's branded or not). She's one of their big International names but has been without a slot for months and replaced by a US Newsroom simulcast.

I'll agree, you'd think Hala would at least present a newscast, even during the weekend. They could have given put her the 12pm ET slot, since CNN USA seems to have scrapped the Inside Politics weekday edition anyways.

Once things have 'settled down' it would be a huge shame not to reintroduce some international programming. The remaining international hours are still good, if a little America-centric, but it's obscene that world news takes a back seat entirely for 20 hours a day. Not sure if the below video has been shared here before but it's easy to forget that their brand new London studio is gathering dust:

Quest Means Business and First Move are now almost totally full of US stories. They can't be considered as global programmes anymore. Waste of time. I used to love QMB when it was a proper digest of the global business day. Since it moved to NY from London, it has gradually got more and more US focused.
Connect the World does some Middle East stuff, but most of the news they cover is US based or has US links.

I believe Amanpour is the only one that is using the London studios, but only every Monday to Thursdays.

World Sport with Amanda Davies or Alex Thomas is only being done in front of a big TV screen. Can't they use a fraction of the studio for World Sport, just like what they've done before on the old studio?
