Having given Charlie Brooker’s Antiviral Wipe a watch last night, that Jeanne Moss report a few months back on Tom Hanks really was beyond tactless. Who thought THAT was a good idea? Jeanne’s style really should not be used on somebody getting a disease/virus and surely she should have had second thoughts when asked about the report.

Couldn't agree more. I find her style to be incredibly irritating generally but this moved from being merely annoying to being downright insensitive. Peppering a news piece about someone being diagnosed with a virus which is killing people with silly wordplay is pretty baffling, whether that person is famous or not.
Guess who's big in the back time!

Looks like Early Start returns to our screens this week, according to the CNNI schedule. Just one hour, at 5pm HKT (5am ET). Presuming it's not in error. But perhaps a sign of a return to normality, hopefully they start restoring some of CNNI's regular shows as well, particularly The Brief & YWT. Even CNN Newsroom during that block would be better than the Situation Room.

I may be late in realising this but it seems as if Domestic's midnight live simulcasts with CNNI have been curtailed again only occupying the 4-5am ET timeslot. The way to tell is when the LIVE DOG goes off during recorded footage and when they do not use ET to show the converted time when live on-location footage is featured. Also, I checked the TitanTV schedules and confirmed that this is the case.

This is how the regular shows on CNN Brasil look like (sometimes with opening sequences borrowed from CNN International, but with worse music, IMO):

- Agora CNN (6-7am BRT):

- CNN Novo Dia (7-10am BRT). premiere edition (March 16th, 2020):

- Live CNN (10am-1pm BRT) (BTW, we in Brazil mostly use the English word "Live" as short for "Livestream", and this name makes sense for this bulletin, as it's presented by Mari Palma and Phelipe Siani, both previously with G1, Globo's online news service):

- Visão CNN (1-4pm BRT). premiere edition (March 16th, 2020):

- CNN 360° (4-6:30pm BRT):

- Expresso CNN (6:30-9:30pm BRT):

- Jornal da CNN (9:30-11pm BRT). premiere edition (March 16th, 2020):

and, just a few days later, William Waack, the main presenter, started presenting the newscast from his home, because of the COVID-19 pandemic, with a secondary presenter in studio: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dIepsQuLFXs

- CNN Newsroom (short late-night bulletins):

And whenever news breaks, they use the CNN USA/International intro, with... "this" piece of music (and yes, CNN Brasil uses the name "Breaking News", in English, for their news flashes):

Once in a blue moon, they also use the CNN USA/International music: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ENr3_0PDHlQ

CNN saying most of their staff will remain working from home past September:

Quote:
Originally CNN Worldwide chief Jeff Zucker announced that he hoped to have 15% of the staff back by June, with the majority returning by early September.

But in a memo to staff, Zucker backpedalled some, changing his mind on just when the staffers would be returning — noting that indeed, some won’t “even return to the office in September,” citing the need to be reconfigure officespace “to drastically reduce our footprint in all of our workspaces” to prevent the spread of coronavirus, Maxi Tani reports.

I would hope CNNI picks up more of their usual international programming sooner than that. BBC anchors in London are operating from their studio, so don't see why more of CNNI's London-based programming (Hala Gorani, the Brief, YWT etc) couldn't resume.

The sets are brilliant! The music is terrible.
