There is a story here about CNN anchor Poppy Harlow who passed out live on air while doing a news bulletin today.

CNN International can be seen I guess temporarily in HD on 10e 11595 V 6666 3/4 DVB-S

And the lower thirds, still look as awful in HD as they do in good fashioned murky SD.

The graphics don't look so hot when the main box of the lower third is missing especially with the "Defining Moments 2015" on the left hand side. They should have incorporated the defining moments as an image in their standard chyron layout with text showing the topic at hand.

I still don't understand why they gave Studio 7 to HLN, CNNi would've make much better use of it!

I hope it stays it's better then 528x576 SD Sky gives us, just tuned it in, came with no service label and three soundtracks so it's setup as a temporary feed.

Interestingly the third soundtrack when a show ends and show begins makes mobile beep noices.

Because CNN Domestic moved most of their shows to New York and needed the smaller HLN studio, thus HLN moved to Studio 7.

I'm curious why CNN isn't sharing its music with these local tie-ups?
The only thing that's tying them all together is the on screen graphics.

The remote camera at CNN Hong Kong overlooking Victoria Harbour... Can Atlanta control the camera?

I want to say it's possible. I remember reading an article (either on TVNewsCheck or TV Technology) which said that the production crew can control the robotic studio cameras from Atlanta that are located else where.

Thanks. It's a tidy system they seem to have. I saw an image of Andrew Stevens presenting a newsroom edition from Hong Kong, with the control room in the background without anyone seemingly in it, so maybe they can control everything including autocue from Atlanta and the local studio's display screens. Maybe.

CNN just launched its production centre in Dubai for CNN Arabic. (not sure why since they have a facility in Abu Dhabi.... just update the Abu Dhabi studio....odd) It features something called GLOBAL CONTROL. Which allows any CNN Control in the world to remotely operate the studio. So I would imagine CNN HK probably would have something similar since it was/is a major production center for CNN. (they still produce NEWSSTREAM from HK.

From CNN Commentary::
Quote:
CNN launched a new, hi-tech studio in Dubai to celebrate the 14th anniversary of its sister network, CNN Arabic.

CNN’s new studio provides the network with a new facility to tap into the growing range of stories emanating from Dubai. CNN will also offer an array of new video capabilities to CNNArabic.com, which has seen strong audience engagement around its increasingly video-led story-telling.

The facility also features a system called Global Control, which allows any CNN control room, anywhere in the world, to take command of the studio and operate it remotely.
