The Brief has been off air for a couple of months now. In the recent past it has been taken off the air whenever Jim was away but even though Jim is back from Kuala Lumpar it hasn't (yet) returned to the schedule

Changes to the European morning schedule from next week!

- World Business Today (10.00cet) is gone. Pauline Chiou from Hong Kong leaves CNN while Nina Dos Santos stays.
- New show, Business View at 12.00 cet, hosted by Nina Dos Santos from London.
- Amanpour replay moves from 12.00 cet to 11.00 cet.
- CNN NewsCenter with Monita Rajpal from Hong Kong moves from 12.30 to 10.00 cet.
- 13.00 cet slot, previously occupied by Piers Morgan and then New Day simulcast (after Morgan was axed) will consist of CNN Newsroom from Hong Kong at 13.00 cet (hosted by Monita or Kristie I guess) and World Sport at 13.30 cet from London ( I assume).
- CNN Newsroom from Atlanta consists of two 30 minute bulletins (6 & 7 cet) and one 2 hour block (8-10 cet)

..... so here's how it will look on paper:

06.00 CNN Newsroom (Atlanta)
06.30 World Sport (Atlanta)
07.00 CNN Newsroom (Atlanta)
07.30 Taped show
08.00 CNN Newsroom (Atlanta)
09.00 CNN Newsroom (Atlanta)
10.00 CNN NewsCenter (Hong Kong)
10.30 Taped Show
11.00 Amanpour (London)
11.30 Taped Show
12.00 Business View (London)
13.00 CNN Newsroom (Hong Kong)
13.30 World Sport (London)

These are some very good changes, a lot more live news, structure to the schedule and live news every hour (except for 11.00). The schedule looks similar to the classic, pre 2009 changes, one:

06.00-09.00 CNN Today (London)
09.00 Business International (London)
10.00 World News (London)
10.30 World Sport (London)
11.00 Larry King Live
12.00 Business International (London)
13.00 World News Asia (Hong Kong)

Programming, Staffing Changes at CNN International

Quote:
Key Changes

• CNN re-launches its business programming:

The new line up puts the network’s unique team of expert business personalities at the heart of a series of new landmark shows pinpointing key junctures of the global business day. Viewers will be able to keep up to date with global economic trends as well as major corporate and market news through The Business View with Nina dos Santos, a new US market show presented by Maggie Lake and the daily emerging markets ‘Global Exchange’ segment.
All shows will feature frequent regional updates from the network’s business experts Andrew Stevens in Hong Kong and UAE-based John Defterios, and Quest Means Business closes the day with a mix of analysis and reflection. The Best of Quest provides a weekend wrap of the week’s best interviews with those at the top of their field.

• CNN adds new programming to prime time line up:

New programming for Middle East prime time viewers comes with Connect the World with Becky Anderson, taking Anderson from London to Abu Dhabi with a new slot and new show format, which debuted in early April.

For prime time viewers in Europe, CNN’s Hala Gorani relocates from Atlanta to London to present a new hour-long, in-depth live evening news show, The World Right Now with Hala Gorani, due to launch in the summer.

• CNN expands Europe/Middle East/Africa morning programming:

There will be a doubling of live news programming for viewers in Europe, Middle East and Africa in the breakfast hours, to debut in late 3rd quarter 2014 from CNN Center in Atlanta.

• CNN refocuses Asia Pacific as newsgathering and feature programming hub:

In Asia Pacific, the Hong Kong bureau expands its newsgathering and feature output capabilities. In particular, a new correspondent post and a new senior editorial post will bolster the bureau’s capacity to cover the region’s stories which in recent months have included extensive coverage of the tragic events of worldwide concern such as Typhoon Haiyan, the missing Malaysia Airlines plane and the South Korea ferry disaster. The first of these new posts is to be taken up by CNN’s senior international correspondent Ivan Watson, who moves to Hong Kong in the summer. CNN’s Kristie Lu Stout will also continue to present an evening prime time news show live from the Hong Kong bureau, with the remaining live programming produced from CNN Center in Atlanta.

• CNN enhances its sports programming:

The network is also evolving CNN World Sport into a more frequent bulletin to better capture the needs of audiences across the 24-hour programming cycle.

Well if CNNi is ramping production out of HK maybe they can finally get a revamped set that fits with Atlanta and London.
NY
NYTV
Also included was
1. Two new shows "Business View" with Nina Dos Santos and "The World Right Now" with Hala Gorani
2. Becky Anderson's "Connect The World" to move to a new timeslot
3. Two dozen positions to be added across London, Atlanta and Hong Kong
4. Most of CNNI's programming to be produced in Atlanta, CNN Domestic moving shows to NYC

The article is a bit confusing but it seems to indicate that Atlanta will really become the main presentation hub for most the day with other locations getting a couple hours a day.

London hours got a severe cutback several years ago and now it seems to be Hong Kong's time. But CNNI also added 2 new presenting hubs last few years - Abu Dhabi and New York.

Will be interesting to see what happens and if Atlanta gets the big studio 7, finally.

Hopefully they will turn it over to CNNi as CNN US moves away from Atlanta to square off with FauxNews and MSNBC in NYC and DC. Seems like the camera operators and studio people in Atlanta will be sat round drinking cups of coffee most of the week. (joke)

Interesting to note that yesterday afternoon/evening HK time, from 16.00-21.00 HK time, none of the HK shows aired and they were not done from Atlanta either, instead those hours were filled with taped specials. I guess this is when the staff briefings and meetings about this announcement took place.

This speaks to our broader vision for CNNI and hopefully you took the opportunity this morning to hear directly from Ellana, Debs, Mike or myself to hear more about it

Tonight CNN Money team including Richard Quest and CNN boss Jeff Zucker got to ring the closing bell at NYSE. Here's how it looked on Quest's own show.

CNNi may be about to refresh. They just aired a promo for a show using the new CNN logo (basically just the CNN logo in a red square) and the new slogan 'go there.'

New logo design has already been unveiled on the sneak peek of their new website and on their current smartphone and Windows 8 apps.

So, the current CNN Domestic branding moving to CNNl as well?

They've been airing the "Go There" adverts for quite a while now, same for the apps advert, hopefully they will refresh their graphics soon.
