Geez. What a mess. Total mess. Global Exchange.

Not sure if it's just my service provider causing issues, but the sound output from the studio in Abu Dhabi is woeful. John Defterios' voice sounds very wobbly, as if he's incredibly nervous. But, it's a sound problem, rather than anything wrong with John.it persisted for the first several minutes of the programme. Back now to the studio after the break and the sound is marginally better.

Filmed content sound is ok and crystal clear. Live link to Athens was very poorly done and significant delays in guest reaction. Finally, segment played out of an upcoming interview with the King of Jordan was very poorly sounded. Volume very very low, and almost inaudible.

Mediocre volume on music intro and extro.

Hope it improves.

Mediocre visual presentation has become a standard for CNN last few years, music, graphics, camera quality has all gone down, not to mention they are the only news channel left in 4:3. A real shame.

This new show is pointless, instead of a real news bulletin we get an hour of developing countries business, something that should be a weekly show.

Not to mention that Jim Clancy lost a weekday slot for this, CNN's most experienced presenter and one of it's faces. I don't see BBC doing this to Nick or Sky to Jeremy. Clearly CNN management has totally lost the plot, it's all about sponsorships and money...

For those fans of the "old" days, tonights Quest Means Business (currently on air) is presented by Max Foster, with Monita Rajpal.

Harks back to the great days of CNN Today with Monita and Max.

CNN has some really nice incidental music between breaks and comebacks during World Report. I wonder if it just plays on a loop for thirty minutes from the top of the hour, and we just dip into it at random wherever it happens to be playing?

Anyway, back to the anchor questions: thanks for the link to Rafael Romo profile. Whilst browsing, tried to find Reggie Aqui's profile, and couldn't. Has he left CNNI?

Christiane Amanpour returning to CNN (International) after she leaves ABC's 'This Week'. Apparently she'll have a new 'daily' show on CNNi, while continuing as a 'Global Affairs anchor' at ABC.

NEW YORK — George Stephanopoulos is returning to Sunday mornings at ABC News, replacing Christiane Amanpour as host of the political talk show "This Week."

ABC said Tuesday that Stephanopoulos, who returns Jan. 8, will remain as host of "Good Morning America," although likely on a four-day schedule.

Amanpour, meanwhile, enters an unusual job-sharing role where she will become ABC's global affairs anchor, contributing to prime-time shows on world news, while also being host of a daily show on CNN International.

"This role is groundbreaking, bold and very different," Amanpour said. "I am thrilled and honored."

Critics wondered from the start whether the Iranian-born Amanpour, a veteran foreign correspondent for CNN, was a good fit for a panel show dominated by American politics. It hasn't budged from third place behind NBC's "Meet the Press" and a resurgent "Face the Nation" on CBS, with the ABC show down 1 percent in ratings from last year.

Amanpour's reporting connections in the Middle East served ABC News particularly well during the Arab spring, and she scored an exclusive interview with then-Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak in February.

But the dawning of an American election year seemed to serve her competitors, old Washington hands Bob Schieffer at CBS and David Gregory at NBC, better.

The Sunday morning show was much stronger in the ratings behind Stephanopoulos, who was host from 2002 to 2010. ABC moved him to New York and "Good Morning America," which has done well in the ratings by teaming him with Robin Roberts.

Amanpour said she was looking forward to getting back out to do more international reporting and speaking to a worldwide audience on CNN, where she worked for more than two decades.

Interesting that both networks are willing to 'share' Christiane. I wonder if CNN were instrumental in this proposal, I remember when Rima Maktabi joined CNNI, she worked for both networks (CNN and AlArabiya) in a kind of 'transition' phase. It was referred to as 'bold & different' then by CNN.

Also interesting that George is moving back to This Week. Whilst Good Morning America has rose in the ratings, I've read many articles saying that theres no real chemistry between himself and Robin Roberts, but as a whole, the '4 piece' team does have chemistry...
