I loved the colour blocks incorporated in the sets. When Atlanta was first shown, I thought the set was tiny and horrid, but looking back now, especially at professionally taken photos, the set was amazing - CNNI's 2006 branding was spectacular.
It's SUCH a shame they've gone back to this tacky style which is even worse than CNN Domestic's look in terms of opening titles etc.
Yes, everything was much better then. Not just in terms of presentation, but content and programming as well. It's a shame to see a new management team destroy this venerable channel in less than two years.
Ginnyfan, there is a (rather tasty) young man reading the news from Atlanta at the moment (World Report). It's not Errol Barnett, nor is it Jim Clancy. It's someone else altogether and with a jaw as square as La Defense arch in Paris!!! Who is he?? Where did he come from? And how long will he be on International?
Not that I will lose any sleep over it, you understand. Just curious....................................LOL.
Sorely Missed (but not necessarily deceased!) – Andrea Sanke (where did she go???)
Ginnyfan - our colleague Charles (from Denver, no less) posted the above comment on another thread. Actually, one does beg the question - where is Andrea now? As the Fount of all Knowledge for all things CNN, could you perhaps enlighten us?? With thanks in advance. J.
She used to but for some time now she doesn't appear there and I think some people got confirmation that she's not with France 24 anymore. So where or if we'll see Andrea again is a huge question mark.
Yes, she left CNN in 2006 to join France 24 as their main debate presenter and high profile interviewer, but she left F24 this summer. Spitfire from cnnfan.org has been looking all over to see if she's signed on with another channel, but he hasn't found any sight of her, and neither have I. It would be an absolute shame if she decided to leave broadcast news because she was a "dazzling charmer" on television in Spitfire's words.
