After the graphics changes when the channel rebranded from CNBC Europe to CNBC, the graphics have now been changed on Squawk Box Europe. Orange/Brown to the usual Blue. Also a business news stream has been added to the ticker. Here's some caps.

It will be interesting to see if the graphics are changed on other London produced programmes.

Have they finally changed the music or are they still using the 2003 music??? This look for Squawk Box seems to bear no relation to any CNBC US look at all - seems Europe (despite dropping the Europe, on screen anyway) are even more going their own way. It was about time for the 2004 look to go, it was based on a look CNBC US have not used for nearly three years now.

I see astons seem to have gone green from CNBC's website? I haven't seen the channel to see what the changes are like onscreen.

CNBC Europe press release on the relaunch - Steve Sedgewick is also leaving Capital Connection to work full time for Squawk Box Europe with Rebecca Meehan taking over:

Yes - new music, although it's not the US theme either. They're going in a different direction.

It's an interesting change to be honest, that they'd move the brand away from the United States with the music, most notably. Anyway, for those who haven't seen it, the introduction, into commercial, and "News Break" graphics.

To note, this is recorded from the US CNBC, which may be the reason for the extra artifacts on the bottom-most crawl on the page.

This clip has the European ticker on it which now includes a business news element. The US CNBC ticker doesn't have this.

Is it just me or is "Squawk Box" the WORST name for a programme in history?

True, just noting the artifacts on the bottom, which are still there in the clearest version I have. By the way, it may be just me, but even this triple play crawl is better than the Bloomberg one, anyone else think so?

This is definitely the case of CNBC in Europe copying Bloomberg. I prefer the Bloomberg ticker (crawl ) to the CNBC London one.

Incidentally, they are not using the 'I am CNBC' promos in Europe and have no attention of doing so. I think they're great.

Oh.

So its an Americanism for "intercom".

That's even worse - but ta for the info.

For what it's worth, while the name seems a bit strange, I think both the European and US versions of Squawk Box are great shows. I think it's an excellent format for an intelligent, interesting morning news programme.
