Here's something that is starting to irritate slightly..

Watching the channel at 6pm (GMT, 7 across Europe!) yesterday after the end of The Simon Hobbs show, and I really do wish the CNBC US mothership would sort her clockstarts out. We crashed back in mid sentence and mid interview, and the astons gave no real background as to what was being discussed.

Why can't the US co-ordinate to start the next hour when Europe joins after local programming? And why don't the presenters welcome European viewers to the US output.?
Less of the warm and friendly, and more like the cold and aloof.

Surely that would just have been the first hour of Squawk Box in the US (which we don't see).

Also I have noticed that they have moved the ticker up a little, so now the clock can be seen.

I think more changes are on their way. I emailed a contact at CNBC Europe and got a response directly on what I commented on, which was, the ticker is too small and is difficult to look at from the other side of the studio I work in, can't see the clock, and the new market stack/bug is rediculous and should be where its always been.......

Anyway, here's part of it;

"Thanks for your comments regarding the recent on-air changes. As a result of these and other comments, we have decided to adopt the following...

- enlargement of the ticker
- increase the width, positioning and clarity of the stack layout
- move the clock

The changes are part of a global direction of the channel and whilst CNBC Europe cannot make drastic changes to the new format, we have decided to make some unilateral alterations, which will take effect from the beginning of January."

Lets wait and see!

i do not know but one thing i do like is that after the first hour of morning call they now say - coming up next for our viewers in europe its the closing bell everyone else stay tuned for the second hour of morning call - which is great, except london never cuts off at the right time.... I noticed that sometimes they are using the full screen effectively:

But why is there still a gap where the old stack was?

Possibly incase they decide to reinrtoduce the stack...having said that the title straps need to be a bit wider as two or three words as a introduction to a talking point is useless

Maybe possibly the old stack might return??

I certainly don't like the current layout, I just can't get used to it. The old stack was far more clearer and concise.

Even CNNfn before it fell off the air used a similar stack to the CNBC of old.

Do we know whether CNBC US and CNBC Asia have adopted this new stock market bug and ticker? The US feed into London is clean without a US ticker and market bug, and just astons etc.

For as long I have been watching CNBC Europe - this has always been a problem. Although I believe it is Europe just crashing right in the middle of a program. CNBC US publish all the break times, so in theory CNBC Europe could either show Closing Bell a little bit longer or hotboards during that time. (however it would be nice to get a cycle of more things than the main European Indicies, but thats for another day).

Surely CNBC US shouldn't have to alter to accomodate CNBC Europe when it would be much easier for Europe to alter their timing.

If I remember rightly, London's re-joins into US programming is done automatically, hence the sudden crashes into programmes in progress, and sometimes you get a single hotboard before crashing back into a half-already finished intro piece.

CNBC Europe have the added complexity that there are several feeds for Europe coming out of London, there is CNBC Europe for the UK, CNBC Europe for Germany Cable, CNBC Europe Nordic, and a few others that evade me right now.

Because of this, Europe Closing Bell etc have to conclude at their scheduled times. If CNBC US overrun on an interview or piece to camera, that is where you get the ugly crashes!

CNBC US definitely have adopted the new top line stack- and they have apparently recieved a lot of complaints about it, by all accounts. I expect Asia have too as it was first seen during CNBC Asia Squawk Box on the day of the US relaunch.

With regard to the space at the side of the astons... I guess they are hedging their bets regarding bringing back the stack at some point.

As for Monday - Squawk Box Europe ran from 6am-10am and Power Lunch Europe from 10am-12 noon. I guess this is the new US bank holiday arrangement. Whatever about US Power Lunch formerly running until 3pm, who in financial services is having lunch at 10am??? Does anyone remember the days when on a US bank holiday, we would get Power Lunch Europe until 2pm and then an extra European Marketwatch from 2pm-4pm? Nowadays they just run filler.

On the subject of Power Lunch Europe, is the recently returned Patrica Szarves now presenter of the programme? And if Ross Westgate has to present Worldwide Exchange, who is backup Squawk Box Europe presenter? (I'm guessing either Guy Johnson or Daniel Mann?)

Move the top line stocks strap, to sit on top of the ticker and you will have an almost perfect graphical on-screen set up.
There is enough 'dead' space in the three sections to bunch them up a bit so you can get the NBC peacock logo at the side of the screen.
