I missed Wake-up Call this week on CNBC.

I notice that in the US, everything is changed for wakeup call.

This is the only picture that I could find of it, I notice that there is only one line of the ticker and there is stocks information shown above it.

I take it that it was not shown on CNBC Europe? As I remember from seeing it elsewhere, the positioning is all different - so I would have expected some problems with Europe's ticker covering it up.

No. We got the regular European (Live Trades (top/Most Actives (bottom) ) ticker. This graphic kinda makes sense, as to why Wake-Up Call's astons are different (and had lots of blank space on them).

Wake up call in the US is so cr#p its unbeleivable. No wonder nobody watches it. The presenter kept forgetting peoples names and the graphics were worse than CNBC europes. Crying or Very sad Rolling Eyes Arrow

Anyone think CNBC Europe should go corporate??????????? Arrow

I think with their revamp in September they went as corporate as they are going to. Anything they were going to take off the CNBC US 2003 look they adopted at that time (in general, the music, the lowercase Impact font, and the yellow tab on astons). Given that the US graphics are still psychadelic (although I've gotten used to them at this stage) I don't think they're suitable to a serious business channel.

What they could do is adopt the US floating CNBCs background for Hotboards, it might be more readable than the current background. And for goodness sake, re-do Squawk Box's titles so that the melody from the music is brought back and the "7:00am->10:00am" bit is removed. After all, we see it from 6am to 9am!

Unless you want to go through the bother of split output from the VT tapes/servers to have a set of titles for the UK and a set of titles for Europe, that won't happen.
It may be on between 6-9am in the UK, but it is 7-10am across mainland Europe - which in terms of landmass and viewers, is slightly bigger.

What happened today?

Just after 12 - I noticed that there is was programme on called "Adapting to change." There was something to do with the sports industry on it.

Then a little while later I turn it on, there is Guy Johnstone giving a Europe market update for CNBC US Squawk Box.

Was the other programme really short or was there issues with CNBC US?

Adapting to Change is just really short, from what I remember. Not sure how long exactly it runs.

They don't need to have two sets of the Squawk Box titles. Just one set that doesn't have any time period in it, at all! And the music reinstated. In fact, if they just use CNBC Asia Squawk Box's titles, that'll do fine!
