I thought that it did work quite well, I liked the way that it was one massive desk with the plasma tilted. I felt it gave good effective crane shots.
Wonder what they will come up with...
Hmm...I think it is more of a comfort issue. Not very ergonomic plus you could often see behind the facade and all the wires. Looked a mess from some shots.
I have a clip of their tribute to the desk, but the upload service isn't working.
Seems like all they can fit in Power Lunch's studio (or their desk anyway!) is Mark - the other members of the Squawk Box club are all coming from other parts of CNBC by the looks of it.
And which producer thought it would be a good idea to give Joe Kernan an animated sting of his own! ("Joe's World") Next every TV presenter will have to have one...

Its been a bit of a standing joke that David Faber had an animated sting, but Joe didn't. So they mocked up a few to start with which looked terrible before doing it proper. Although I think its meant to be a little tounge-in-cheek.
Well, they must have moved into the re-fitted studio by now. Any chances of captures or screenshots, anyone?
By the way, I have noticed recently from catching some of the U.S programming around the in-programme ad breaks that CNBC have changed the design of their on-screen promo graphics in the U.S., and of course the U.S.-based promotions team also helped in the production of promos which tied in with the refresh of CNBC Europe's on-screen look in September last year.
Considering we often see some of the U.S. made promos in some of the ad break junctions around the U.S. programming, I wonder whether if, (like with the september changes) we will also see the same or similar style of promos here eventually.
Why doesn't CNBC Europe show some of the new U.S.-made promos for programmes that are specifically shown here in Europe? I think they could be re-edited and shown here, albeit with the time changes for CET (Central European Time) added.

Considering here in Europe we often see some of the U.S. made promos in some of the ad break junctions around the U.S. programming (before CNBC Europe cuts in and opts-out to show ads and promos), I wonder whether if, like with the changes made back in September last year that we will also see the same or similar style of promos here eventually.

Talking of CNBC, I notice the old break-filler music has made a welcome comeback in the last few days.
Saw Dan Mann on CNBC (US) Closing Bell tonight talking about the possible change of the NYSE opening bell to 7:30am ET (ie, 12:30pm GMT). If that came through (although I understand it is just a kite at the moment) I would say it would mean big changes to the CNBC schedules (an earlier US Squawk Box, quite possibly...)
Well after all that wait, there isn't really much different. More junk, I mean personal effects along the back wall. The colours of the back wall are a deeper red and blue and the desk is smaller.
Thats about it really.
On the CNBC Europe Break filler music, it is sooooooo annoying. I wish they would pick a different theme to play over it.
