A lot of journalists such as Tim Shipman from The Sunday Times and Tom Newton Dunn of The Sun have criticised the judgment, so I’ll think you’ll see editorials supporting the BBC tomorrow.
There’s no doubt the BBC went over the top with its reporting but the story was correct and arguably in the public interest. There may have been some questionable conduct by Daniel Johnson but it said there are only two qualities you need to be a good journalist: rat-like cunning and a plausible manner.
This case is different to the incorrect Newsnight report that resulted in the resignation of George Entwistle. Though, there is the theme of the BBC wanting to be seen to correct its omission in shelving the investigation into Savile.
I think the BBC came out far worse in Nick Pollard’s review of the Savile affair where it was clear that nobody would actually take responsibility for anything.

While their Journalists do support it I cant see the Sun putting an editorial out that supports the appeal - it be one that only focuses on the other aspects of the Case where the BBC can be fairly criticized.

Beyond this, how many controversial uses of the helicopter can you list? Why would they need to suspend it's use - we don't see it used too much anyway.
I am surprised they haven't announced at suspension of using the helicopter until they get new guidelines

Because it can be argued that it is an expensive piece of equipment which rarely adds that much to the story during these times of cost cutting.

Sir Cliff Richard calls for Heads to Roll at the BBC so I suspect major resignations are coming very soon (as they know they cant win against a press barrage calling for your head).

Because it is how resignations often work - people resign before they pushed after it becomes obvious the only way to save the organizations (or goverment's) reputation is for that person to leave.
I don't get this obsession with BBC people being forced by the press to resign from their jobs, it's not how resignations work.

With respect to Cliff, calling for someone to resign doesn’t mean they will or should.
