Yeah, it's cunningly positioned so you don't see it for desk shots. I only managed to see it at the end of the Saturday show as they went for a very long shot of the studio at the end.

Dont know whats wrong with having a christmas tree in shot it is afterall the festive season!

Actually Breakfast has two trees but the second, and more sparsely decorated, only makes an appearance on wide shots in the Bridge.

What's the point in that, apart from making wide shots look a bit nicer - they could so easily have put one in the News Channel studio if they're going to be greedy and have two... but, then again, does the Breakfast studio get used for stuff during the Christmas break?

I like it, looks stylish. I don't think it would have been so easy to put a real tree in the news channel studio - where would you put it? You couldn't put it in the corners because it would obscure the screens for two-ways and the weather etc.

Well i think you hit the nail on the head, the idea is purely to make the shot look nice and Christmassy. It is a telly programme after all Smile

Breakfast is coming from N6 from Christmas day to Sunday 4th Jan inclusive, but I think it highly unlikely the tree will be moved to N6, purely because there's no room behind the presenters for one! The other option would be to have it in the corner but then it would hardly ever be in shot and it wouldnt give a nice perspective because the studio space is too small.

Tree is present (pardon the pun), on Channel Report. Both in Jersey and when they crossed for an interview to Guernsey.

No tree on BBC Channel Islands news. There again the BBC CI news is 10 mnutes at 6:30pm and then whatever the length of the late bulletin is at 10:35pm.

Not to mention the tiny studio.

It would look too crowded around the desk if the tree was put there.
