I think that is perfect for the News Channel. It's a careful balance

so I think the subtle virtual tree is a perfect choice for a rolling news channel.

perfect is it? really!

Gotta love the Daily Mail readers' comments:

John from Clacton posted:

The BBC get enough of our money, so surely they could get some new decorations, or is it to be a typical BBC action, and just a repeat of last years decorations.

Whereas of course, if the BBC spent your vastly inflated Licence Fee on new decorations every year, the Mail would be full of complaints wailing how much is wasted every year on new decorations when last year's were perfectly good enough.

John, from Clacton, I've never met you before, but I can safely say you are a crainless bunt.

Bah, the Mail, it isn't even good for toilet paper.

You've left out the .jpg in your link. I see they've got some pressies on the floor too.

We've got the trees up in the North West too. (Well, I noticed North West Tonight had theirs up on Saturday).

Strange place for Granada to put their tree. London Tonight had their tree up also.

I suppose they didn't want to put it in the centre as it would block the "Granada" sign in the background. Just looks a bit silly. Would have looked better to one side of the screen or something.

Thames Valley Tonight's tree has been up since Friday, just the one though, and no presents.
