Well that's just going to make things look stupid when they bring in the Breakfast tree (which is completely different in colur and probably taller) - if they are going to do that this year.
I think that is perfect for the News Channel. It's a careful balance - you don't want to see a huge sparkling Christmas tree if a major news event occurs at Christmas (which seems to happen a lot these days - tsunami, Benazir Bhutto) so I think the subtle virtual tree is a perfect choice for a rolling news channel.
I think that's fantastic. I'm not wild about that newsroom background, but somehow that Christmas tree helps to give it a certain depth it doesn't normally display. Very well executed.
As well as being virtual, the Channel's tree also seems to be magical - first it was there, now it aint. After the One it didn't make a comeback. Christmas is over, it's official.
