I wonder why ITV dont do regional bulletins on Boxing Day and New Years Day. Christmas Day I can understand.

They should have an early evening bulletin on Boxing Day and New Years Day, especially with a full programme of football matches to cover.

I was rather suprised to see BBC Regional News at 1.05pm today, was expecting a teatime one, not a lunchtime. More effort than ITV mind you.

Interesting again today. 3 bulletins on Boxing Day, with 2 seperate presenters, but on New Year's Day just 1 bulletin

You'd think the BBC would just follow the weekend schedule of one five minute bulletin at teatime.

I don't think the local ITV bulletins are particularly missed on Boxing Day / New Year's Day. Before you get into the usual ITV bashing remember that over the year they provide a much better (well, more at least) service over weekends than the beeb - with around 20 minutes a day compared to five on the BBC!

Wouldnt hurt for ITV to have 1 regional bulletin on Boxing Day and New Years Day at around 6.30pm, afterall they have a full set of sports results so its not as if they would be doing it for the sake of it. A late bulletin isnt needed on Bank Holidays though.
