Although it isn't News related, Channel M have changed their off-air caption and spent a little bit of money on it, we now have Testcard F in 16:9 (Believe me here) with Frank Sidebottom and Little Frank playing the keyboard telling us what time Channel M is back on air.
It was rather amusing to see at 1.40am the other morning. So take a look if you're up late.
Well although I've not heard anything else about it, if you drive down the Moss side area of Princess Parkway into Manchester (as I did today) they've got adverts on the lamp posts about the new Breakfast show, although no proper information is on them (from what I could see whilst driving) it's a good indication it's coming on the air very soon.
It'll be interesting to see how this will work on-screen, it's amazing that within a few years Channel M has gone from a bog standard RSL to a station that provides mostly Local programming (yes they're often repeated) and to provide News three times a day, Breakfast if you count it.
Channel M, the dedicated service broadcasting throughout Greater Manchester, launches Channel M Breakfast on 26th March. Channel M Breakfast will be a live news and lifestyle programme covering regional stories including traffic and weather updates, guests and interviews. Vanessa Williams is the Programme Editor
Well I think the Breakfast show has been put on hold, for some reason up until the other day Channel M were providing listings for Next week and it appeared 'Breakfast News' was in the schedule from Monday at 6.00am until 9.00am, and I've checked it now and it appears it's gone back to EuroNews.
It also appears the adverts for 'Channel M Breakfast' seem to have stopped aswell and no mention on Channel M News either, I take it things have been delayed.
Well it appears that 'Channel M Breakfast' is back on the cards now and it's apparently scheduled for Monday 16th April from 6.00am to 9.00am, as that is what is being promoted on Channel M at the moment.
And no surprise that it appears that Byron Evans will be presenting it.

Ahhh darn. I was hoping to get away from him! I find him the singularly-most-annoying presenter on Channel M. Technially very proficient yes, but there's just something about him I can't stand. I can't put my finger on it though. Nevermind, I'll give it a try I suppose!

I think he's alright, but I can think of worse people than him on the Television as a whole. There was a promo for it on the other night where he's dressed up as a Milkman walking to someone's house and at the end of it he pratically shouts, Good Morning Manchester.
But indeed I'm willing to give it a go, but I don't think it'll be a one man show.
Did anyone catch Channel M Breakfast this morning?
I managed to catch the last hour and I can say I'm rather impressed, it's just a simple format of a few presenters, Local News every 15 minutes along with Traffic News and Weather, just simple yet effective.
The banter was a tad annoying, but otherwise good. Plus it's not every Breakfast programme where you get Frank Sidebottom reviewing the papers.
Yes I caught some yesterday and today, I was very impressed. I think the people of Manchester should get behind it rather than slag it off, as no doubt happen's to any new show on a low budget channel. Everyone did a great job and it looked very proffesional to me. I'll be watching most mornings....
