Yes, simple but elegant. I smiled at the animation for the hashtag - it reveals itself as another block from the 4 logo when animating on and off screen.

The straps are all wonderfully smooth and distinctive. They're excellent.

The view of the atrium is much clearer than in the past. Could even see ITN Productions down in the basement!

Missed the title sequence but the straps are lovely.

Post of the year. Smile

The dark theme really suits the programme. The overall feel is much more authoritative than before (not that I felt that wasn't authoritative).

The theme, which now sounds more like the original arrangement, is great too, I wish they'd just put the brief intro back in.

A very effective refresh. Bravo all involved.

Yes, I think this refresh is very reminiscent of C4 News from the 1990-1995 period. The predominant colour back then was black too (albeit with an orange logo) and the theme tunes are very similar too.

On a geeky note, did anyone spot the old reel-to-reel audio tape machine over Krishnan's shoulder during interviews? It's been there for many years but was particularly noticeable now that the glass is more transparent. It's located in the sound control room of PCR6 (the C4 News control room) and has a light shining on it so that it's visible in the background.

OK that's enough geekiness for one evening Smile

Reminds me more of the early 00s:

Yes that's true. I'd forgotten that it had a black phase between 1999 and 2004 as well. I am glad that the white era has come to a close. I always thought it was a bit to garish and this new colour scheme is much more suitable to the type of programme C4 News is.

Thought people may appreciate an upload of today's bulletin ending, which had a nice closing shot of the studio and slightly extended theme to usual (I think, I don't watch 4 News often). Apologies for poorer than normal picture quality, Channel 4 +1 looks especially bad on Freeview.
