Channel 4 News

The studio segments of tonights edition were presented from the secondary desk (usually used for interviews). Presume the studio is having some work done to tie in with the Channel 4 refresh, although the only logos in there I can think of are on screen?

Yes, although the 3D "4" features quite prominently on the glass wall that faces the atrium, so it's possible they're working on that, too.

The Channel 4 News Facebook has been given a new logo.

No mention of 'news' at all.

Given the text alongside it will read "Channel 4 News", that's not a problem.

I can see the Channel 4 News studio from my desk. And speaking of desks...

I understand changes have been made to the studio set, opening titles and on-screen graphics to incorporate the revised C4 logo. Also some tweaks to the theme music ...

Really wasn't liking the logo on the lunchtime summary - it's kind of what it would look like in the squares era had the squares era been done badly.

That new logo and titles are rather brilliant!

Yes, simple but elegant. I smiled at the animation for the hashtag - it reveals itself as another block from the 4 logo when animating on and off screen.

I take it from that intro that the C4 graphics team didn't find out about the rebrand until yesterday either.
