Yes well many 'pundits' always predict that anchors and journalists will leave their current roles following an election. For example it has been speculated numerous times about Nick Robinson moving on after May.

I was just speculating given the large changes in the Ch4 presenting team in the past year or so with numerous successors hanging about and my perceived decline in the standard of his presenting.

I don't tend to watch Channel 4 News often, but I watched it throughout on Thursday and although as a great broadcaster than Jon Snow is, Matt Frei handled the programme so much better, and he was on location in Paris.

The sad thing is about C4N is that they have a great pool of talent, however they only have one full bulletin a day to play about with, if they were BBC/ITV/Sky they'd easily be able to spread their talent out across the day.

Don't forget Paxo has joined C4 now, although I could never see him reading the News on a regular basis, I wouldn't be too surprised if he did show up on the News in some form or other at some point.

Jon Snow has had a successor in waiting for most of the time he's been at C4.

I don't think Paxman has 'joined C4' - I think he's been booked specifically for the Election, rather than joining the ITN C4 News team.

C4N's strength, is that it isn't diluted across the day. It's a first rate programme, generally better and sharper than Newsnight IMHO.

In fact it's one of the few remaining intelligent regular programmes C4 have left these days

I always thought the entrance to the studio for C4 News was via a walkway behind the Barcos . . . apparently not, as shown in this video from tonight's edition . . .

EDIT:
I had to create my own endboard (I Googled an old one) because some companies get very prickly if you don't copyright them)

There is certainly another entrance. I've never seen people entering the C4 News studio via the atrium.

There's also a door from the other side of the set onto the opposite side of the atrium. The side where Jon is walking is next to the C4 newsroom; the other side is PCR6, the C4 control room.
